A Nigerian-born British writer and New York Times and internationally bestselling author of The Girl With The Louding Voice and And So I Roar: powerful stories about courage, identity, and finding your voice against all odds.
My debut novel was a Today Show Book Club pick, a BBC Radio 4 Book Club selection, and shortlisted for numerous awards. Translated into several languages and loved by millions globally, it continues to spark conversations around education, resilience, and empowerment.
My journey wasn’t always straightforward. For years, I balanced late-night writing sessions with a demanding corporate career until I embraced storytelling as my life’s purpose. Today, I help leaders, teams, and individuals craft impactful narratives that resonate. I've spoken at Harvard Business School, Harvard Kennedy School, and other institutions worldwide.
I proudly serve as the Chief Louding Officer of the Louding Voice® Foundation, empowering young girls in rural Nigeria through scholarships and mentorship and the Louding Voice® Academy, offering transformative writing courses and coaching for aspiring authors.
In 2024, I received an honorary doctorate of Letters from Glasgow Caledonian University in recognition of my contributions to literature and advocacy.
When I’m not writing or speaking, you’ll find me enjoying good food and getting lost in a great book.
